September is National Preparedness Month. It's a great idea for families to plan what to do, and where to meet; in the event of a fire, natural disaster, or other emergency. FEMA provides a helpful site with checklists to help you cover all bases:

Some easy but beneficial ideas include the following;
- Have a family plan for how to exit your home and where to meet should a disaster strike.
- Discuss a plan of action if disaster strikes while your family is at work or school.
- Keep at least a 3 day supply of non-perishable food and drinking water in a safe place.
